Search engine optimization (SEO) is the act of improving your site’s visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) to attract more organic (unpaid) traffic, by updating the information in the backend that pulls into these previews.

Why Search Engine Optimize your Virtual Tour?

Search engine optimization of your tour can improve the search visibility of your virtual tour, helping you gain new organic discoveries through online searches. It will also support clean previews of your Circuit Scenes and Tours on social media and across different campaigns. Search engine optimizing your virtual tour should not interfere with SEO for your website, as your virtual tour is a subdomain of your institution’s website.

Search Engine Optimization in Circuit

A SERP pulls both the Title Tag and Search or Meta Description from your Circuit CMS. These are short pieces of information that summarize a webpage’s content.

  • The Title Tag appears as the main headline in search results

  • The Search or Meta Description is the brief description below it

    • Search Description for tours

A Tour’s Search Description will pull into your Tour Card on your virtual tour Homepage.

How to Search Engine Optimize Tour Content

  1. Navigate to the Scene, Tour, or Tour Group.

  2. Select the Promote tab to open up the Promote configuration settings.

  3. Fill in the Title Tag and Search or Meta Description with your optimized name and description. Remember, for your tour’s Search Description, this will pull into the homepage tile card.

  4. Save draft or Publish your new Title Tag and Search Description
