In this article, an overview will be provided for Circuit's most important features, which are outlined in the navigation panel on the left-hand side of the Circuit Content Management System (also referred to as the CMS.)

Introduction to the Circuit CMS

Dashboard

When you first login, the screen that you land on is the dashboard. At the top of your dashboard, you will see how many published scenes you have out of the amount of scenes available in your scene quota, as well as how many tours and images you have. If you are new to the Circuit CMS, you will see the "Set up your virtual tour" onboarding checklist. It is recommended you complete all of the tasks on this list to get your virtual tour up and running.

On the bottom right of your screen, you will see a purple bubble with a smiling chat-box icon. If you click this button, you can send our Customer Success team a message, go straight to the Circuit Help Centre, and view recent Circuit news and feature releases!

Below, you will see the recent history of edits, as well as a button you can click to view all recent edits. This is useful if you ever want to jump back into what you or your colleague were working on. If you ever want to return to the main page, you can click the Circuit logo in the top of the left-most navigation panel to return to the dashboard.

Also in the left-most navigation panel, just below the Circuit logo, is the Search Bar. Here, you can search for any content in the CMS, including scenes, tours, hotspots, and images.

Scenes

Here you can create your "tour stops", which we call scenes.

Types of scenes include:

  1. 360° Scenes, also referred to as panoramas

  2. Gallery Scenes, which are carousels of images and/or videos

  3. Matterport Embed Scenes, which are 3D interactive models of rooms or buildings

Scenes are the building blocks of your tours. You can create project folders and groups to organize your scenes in the way that you want. We recommend creating a project based on a location, and a group based on a building that a number of your scenes may share. For example: in the "Explorer Campus" project would be the "Welcome Centre" group, and in that group would be the "Reception" scene.

Tours

Here you can create tours from the scenes you have created. Tours are essentially a playlist of 360° Scenes, Gallery Scenes, and Matterport Embed Scenes. Tours control the presentation of your virtual tour site. You will also need to organize them into tour groups, which determines the navigation on your tour homepage.

Maps

If Maps is included in your package, this is where you can add locations to your scenes and style your maps. Circuit maps are fully interactive and built to replicate the buildings and landmarks that are important to you. Tour stops can be set at different locations on your maps, so that your maps and tours are interconnected.

Images

This is where you can view and upload panoramic and static images. To upload, you can drag and drop your files (either individually or as a batch) or select them from your computer. Images will appear in the image gallery and be ready for use when creating your scenes. You can organize images in different collections and add tags to your images to better locate them.

Embed Videos

This is where you can add videos for embedding into your virtual tour, as well as view which videos you have added. Videos will appear in the video gallery and be ready for embedding into your tours. Videos that are added to the Circuit CMS are different than images, because they are not uploaded directly: these videos must have been uploaded somewhere else first, and provided with a YouTube, Vimeo, or QQ link.

Calls to Action

On this page you can create your Calls to Action that you can add to your tours. There are two main types of CTAs, with their own subtypes:

  1. Button Calls to Action, which are sticky buttons either on your virtual tour homepage or within your individual tours, and can be one of three:

    1. A form

    2. A notice

    3. An external link

  2. Timed Calls to Action, which displays in your individual tours after a certain number of scenes, useful for capturing your most engaged users, and can be one of two:

    1. A form

    2. A notice

Audio

If Audio Guide is included in your package, here is where you can upload Recorded Audio files that you can then add to your scenes, hotspots, and tour splash screens. You can also listen to and manage your Generated Audio here as well.

Personalization

If Personalization is included in your package, here is where you can create categories and labels to organize your content, as well as edit existing labels. Personalization allows visitors to create their own unique journey as they go through your content, choosing which scenes are most relevant to them. Labels created here can be added to scenes and tours later.

Analytics

This is where you can view your interactive Circuit Analytics Dashboard, and view your tour analytics regarding users, sessions, engagement, leads, conversion, feature-usage, and more. You can also opt to receive a PDF copy of your analytics report emailed to you weekly or monthly.

Forms

Here is where you can set up lead capture forms, which can later be connected to a CTA. Contact a member of our team to set up an IFrame or CRM form.

Reports

This is where editors can quickly find missing or incomplete content. If you are ever running low on available scenes, check out if you have any Scenes not on Tours, as this will count as a used scene, but will not be visible to users. You can also find out here what content is incomplete, what changes have not been published, and more.

Settings

Here you can do all of the more advanced configurations of your Circuit virtual tour, like manage users and configure maps. You will likely go to the CMS Settings to set up your brand colours and logos, homepage, and privacy policy. Any advanced configuration will be done with assistance from the Circuit Customer Success team!

Visit the Tour Basics and Homepage Configuration sections of our Help Centre for more information.

Account Details

At the very bottom of the left-most navigation menu, you will see your name and profile picture. If you click the arrow, a small menu will appear, where you can edit your account information, manage notification email preferences, or change your password. You can also view the Circuit privacy policy and terms of use, link straight to the Circuit Help Centre, and log out.
