Slugs are used within Tour Groups, Tours, and Scenes and are the unique identifying part of a web address, typically at the end of the URL.

For example, featured-tours is the slug in this URL:

When first titling any of the above for your virtual tour, your slug will be automatically generated based on the title you select.

However, there are a few situations in which re-generating a slug may be necessary.

If a title is very long, a shortened slug may be selected.

  • The "Pre-Service Firefighting Lab" scene’s slug, pre-service-firefighting-lab, could be updated to the shorter, firefighting-lab

If you have two scenes, tours, or tour groups with the same title, you will need to update or regenerate the slug to successfully save.

  • The "Welcome to Explorer College" scene has the following slug, Welcome-to-Explorer-College. If you went to create a new tour entitled "Welcome to Explorer College," you would need to update your slug to differentiate. In this case, updating the tour slug to Welcome-to-Explorer-College-Tour.

To edit or regenerate your slug:

  1. Hover over the scene, tour, or tour group of which you would like to edit the slug

  2. Click Edit

  3. Click the Promote Tab

  4. Within the Slug field, edit the contents as needed

  5. Click Save Draft or Publish

Kindly note, if you ever update the title of a scene, tour, or tour group, the slug does not automatically regenerate, but rather, must be manually updated as needed!
