This article provides tips on how to best plan your production schedule so you can capture all the content you need to showcase your space in an efficient manner.

As a reminder, there are three different types of scenes that can be included in your Circuit tour:

  1. 360° Scenes: These are scenes that are created using a 360° panorama image and built up with hotspots that can feature 2D images. They are designed to be immersive, interactive, and informative.

  2. Gallery Scenes: These are scenes that showcase a series of 2D images and embedded videos, which are very useful for creating virtual photobooks or spotlighting videos.

  3. Matterport Embed Scenes: These scenes are an interactive 3D model of a room or building. This scene type allows you to embed your Matterport content into your tour.

Tip #1: Shoot Duration Per Space

When planning production, it’s best to allot a time slot to each space. Each space takes about 5-7 minutes to shoot, but it’s best to designate 20-25 minutes per space to account for traveling time.

Tip #2: Multi-day Production

We recommend scheduling about 20-25 spaces per day to shoot. If there’s time left over, we can proactively shoot spaces for the subsequent days to get ahead of schedule!

It's best to schedule indoor shots and outdoor shots separately because that way the plan can be adjusted based on weather conditions.

It's also helpful to group shooting spaces by location so that you can tackle one area of campus each day and limit wasting time going from one location to the next if they're too spaced out.

Tip #3: Spaces with Many People

If your scene is in a busy space with a lot of student activity, no need to worry, as we can still shoot that space! It’s important to note, however, that for those spaces there should either be production signage present before entering the spaces, or media consent forms on site. Faces can also be blurred out if requested as well.

Now that you've planned your production schedule, it's time to prepare your spaces for 360° image capture!
