QR codes are a great way to let in-person visitors take advantage of the amazing content you have on your virtual tour.

How to create QR codes for your virtual tour

Step 1: Decide on your story

Decide the story you want to tell with your QR codes. You may want to showcase buildings by showing specific scenes or maps or run visitors through full stories of certain areas of campus with specialized tours you have already created.

Step 2: Gather scene/tour links

Get the links to each of the scenes or tours you want to include so you can create your codes.

Tip: Create a hidden tour for your in-person QR tour that includes a welcome scene to explain to visitors how to use the codes they see around campus. By having the tour hidden, you’ll keep it off your online tour site but still be able to give context to people who scan your code.

Step 3: Choose an online QR code generator

Here are three free QR code generators:

  1. Note: You can use a paid account to insert your logo and more!

Step 4: Create your QR Codes

Put your tour links into the QR code generator. For added pizazz, customize your QR Code with your company logo.

Step 5: Test

Test your QR Codes to ensure they are working and directing to the correct sites.

Step 6: Implement with signage

Use the code in signage around your spaces to let visitors explore and learn more about your story.

Here is an example of how you can lay out your QR code signage.
